42 updates for Tempest
October 2026
Earnings context in term inversion alerts(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Term inversion alerts now say in their message whether scheduled earnings overlaps the reading. When the alerts fire is unchanged.
Earnings in the curve(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
The Term structure section shows whether the nine-day and thirty-day readings are before, spanning or including the scheduled earnings report. Use the same labels in custom scans and scan alerts, or ask Talon about them.
One Alerts page and notification settings(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Alerts now live on a single Alerts page, with one notification settings screen. Tempest confirms when an alert is created, and the bell has a Manage alerts link. Atlas and Tempest link to All alerts.
Readable dropdown lists on Windows(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
The Sector, Theme and Watchlist dropdowns on the radar now open with readable text in dark mode on Windows and Linux browsers. Before, the list could appear white with near-white text.
Reference cones, touch odds and monthly levels(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Atlas shows reference cones from the prior close and last week's close, plus a monthly cone and monthly range levels. A Move vs priced readout shows touch odds, and you can drag or collapse it to a pill. Pinned cones show shape.
Day pace and Vol repricing scan conditions(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Scans now offer Day pace and Vol repricing as conditions, and Tempest sends pace alerts. The Atlas Today pace row shows the numbers from the alert.
Skewed bands and events on the cone(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Cone bands can now lean up or down to show skew, and event markers appear on the cone. Talon also reports skewed ranges and events when you ask about a cone.
Tempest paused page(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
When Tempest is switched off for maintenance, opening it shows "Tempest is paused" with a link back to the dashboard, instead of an access denial.
September 2026
Tempest page opens for admitted members(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Members admitted to the Tempest beta can now open the Tempest page. Before, they saw Access Denied even though the Tempest menu entry showed.
Tempest access updates without a reload(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
When Tempest access is granted or removed, an open Tempest page now reflects it within a few minutes without a reload. Refreshing the page picks up a change sooner.
Velocity popover on narrow windows(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
The velocity popover now opens on narrow browser windows when you use a mouse. Touch devices still use the bottom sheet.
Talon weekly covers the current week(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Ask Talon for a weekly report and it covers the current week, with next week or this week available on request. The current week's report is headed What I Am Watching This Week.
Talon answers on SPX, SPY and QQQ history hold up(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Asking Talon how a level on SPX, SPY or QQQ changed over a day or more no longer occasionally gets your answer cut off mid-reply.
Daily history chart may lag until the close(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
On a day when a name's history changes during the session, its daily history chart can lag until the close. Scans stay current during market hours.
Thin-chain names now show on the radar(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Names with thin options chains now show on the radar by default, flagged Approximate, instead of being left off. Turn on Hide approximate to filter them out again, and hover the Approximate badge to see why a reading is approximate.
Research-backed scan templates(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
New templates in the scan builder are drawn from Tempest's own research. Each shows a historical outcome rate, notes it's historical and not a signal to trade, and links to the research note.
See how often a cone has held(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Ticker view shows a 'Cone held' badge next to Expected move, with how often price has stayed within 1, 2, and beyond 3 standard deviations for this name and overall. Add a Cone held column to the radar, and see the same figure on Atlas price charts.
Price plotted against volatility(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Add a Tempest volatility pane under the Atlas price chart, plotting SVX30, SVX1D, percentile, term structure, skew, tilt, or next-close move alongside price, with a correlation reading over the window you choose. Off by default from the Add menu. Also in ticker view.
Expected move near earnings sizes the report correctly(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Expected move and the earnings record's priced move now correctly size an earnings report's impact, instead of understating it when the report lands close to options expiration.
SVX30 flagged when data is thin(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
When there isn't enough options data to price SVX30 precisely, Tempest now labels the reading approximate instead of showing it as an exact number.
Volume filters work after the close(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Scans and alerts using a minimum option volume no longer come back empty after the market closes.
Marking a live alert read now sticks(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Marking a live pop-up alert as read, or dismissing it, no longer reverts to unread after you refresh.
Build your own scan(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Add any condition to the radar, on any field, including how a reading has been moving over the last few sessions rather than just where it sits today. Start from a template, save scans across your devices, and get alerted when a new name matches one.
Earnings card no longer calls one report typical(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
With fewer than three past earnings reports on file, the earnings card shows how many reports it has instead of calling the move typical or giving a priced-vs-usual verdict, and notes that more history is loading.
Light mode for Tempest(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Tempest, the Tempest cards in Aegis, and the Tempest Cone on Atlas now follow your light or dark mode setting instead of always showing dark.
Clearer Tempest Cone panel on Atlas(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
The Tempest Cone panel says exactly which cone you're viewing and why, its controls and columns get short explanations, and it now sits bottom-right so it no longer covers the chart, the drawing tools, or, on phones, the Calf's toolbar.
Replay and pin Tempest cones on Atlas(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Turn on Cone at replay time in the Tempest plugin's settings to see, in Atlas replay, the cone options priced at that moment. Pin a cone and a scorecard tracks price against it.
Weekend-adjusted SVX(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Percentiles, setups, the usual range and SVX history use a weekend-adjusted reading, so Fridays stop looking cheap. A Weekend-adjusted checkbox on the history chart shows the standard reading.
Why some names aren't on the radar(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Tap or hover the name count above the radar to see where the rest are. Search a name that isn't on the radar and it opens with a short note saying why.
Tempest in Talon(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Ask Talon about cheap or rich names, presets, one ticker, a day's sigma or the market regime, even combined with Heatseeker exposure skew.
Resizable radar and detail panes(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
On desktop, drag the divider to resize the radar and ticker detail; the toolbar no longer covers them. Dealer levels moved to Heatseeker.
Setups and the Coiled preset(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Each ticker shows what followed past times in the same condition, next to a base rate. Skew flip and Coiled join the presets.
Implied vs actual, earnings record and calibrated odds(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Ticker detail adds implied vs actual vol, spot-vol behaviour, earnings record, forward vol and calibrated odds. Panels fold and stay how you left them.
Skylit Fear & Greed and Mag 7 dispersion(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
The Market tab adds a Fear & Greed gauge built from options pricing, plus Mag 7 dispersion. The score also sits atop every Tempest page.
A clearer Sigma panel(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
You see moves in dollars, the last big move, whether the stock breaks its range more than priced, and a tappable 60-session strip.
Tempest on your phone(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
On a phone the radar becomes cards with a filter sheet, and ticker detail gets a pinned header with section tabs.
Longer SVX history with a usual range(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
SVX history reaches back up to five years, with a usual-range band and optional skew line. Settling back shows how often similar readings normalized.
Sector and theme groups on the radar(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
Group the radar by sector or theme to see which groups are rich or cheap together, and pick the horizon and lookback that rank it.
Daily and weekly range levels on Atlas(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
The Atlas Tempest plugin can draw fixed daily and weekly range lines: today's range priced at the prior close, and this week's priced at last week's close.
Market tab(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
The new Market tab shows S&P 500 volatility: regime, term curve, VIX futures, vol of vol and tail risk. Tickers gain Skew and Earnings.
Tempest(in the Tempest guide, opens the docs in a new tab)
See which stocks have cheap or expensive options against their own history: a ranked radar, a full view of any ticker, and cones on Atlas.
